Background: A homeowner in a rural Victoria, decided to reduce their energy costs and increase energy independence by installing a Franklin battery storage system at the rear of their property. The property had previously relied on the national grid for electricity when their exisitng solar system wasn't producing and the homeowner sought an alternative to manage their energy consumption more effectively and embrace sustainable energy practices.


Objective: The primary objective was to store excess energy generated by the homeowner’s solar panels during the day to be used during the night, as well as to provide backup power in the event of grid failure. The homeowner wanted a solution that would allow them to lower their electricity bills, reduce their reliance on the grid, and make use of renewable energy.


Solution: After assessing the homeowner's energy usage patterns and the performance of their existing solar panels, Franklin's home battery storage system was selected due to its efficiency and reliability. The system was installed at the rear of the property, where the space was suitable for the battery’s footprint. 


Space constraints at the rear of the property were also a consideration, but the chosen location optimised available space without compromising accessibility or functionality.


Conclusion: The installation of the Franklin battery storage system provided the homeowner with a cost-effective and sustainable solution for energy management. By leveraging renewable energy and ensuring reliable backup power, the homeowner was able to achieve their energy independence goals.


The project demonstrated the growing potential for battery storage solutions in residential settings, offering a pathway to a greener, more efficient future.

Implementation: The installation process took less than a day, including mounting the battery, wiring it into the existing electrical system, and ensuring proper configuration with the solar system.
